New Survey To Measure the Economic Impact of Black-Owned Businesses in SW Ohio and Northern Kentucky

The Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky African American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) is proudly partnering with the UC Economics Center to embark on expanded research into the economic impact of Black-owned businesses in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. And we need Black business owners to help us accurately capture the considerable contributions made by Black-owned businesses in the region.

In expanding this groundbreaking research project, the Economics Center will leverage its previous collaboration with the AACC to conduct a comprehensive economic impact analysis. Focusing on Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky communities, including key areas such as Cincinnati, Covington, Dayton, Florence, Fairfield, Hamilton, Liberty Township, Mason, Middletown, Newport, Sharonville, Springdale and West Chester Township, this analysis aims to illuminate the substantial contributions of Black-owned businesses.

Marking the third consecutive study, the Center’s researchers will build on the pioneering work that began in 2021. In the inaugural analysis (https://www.aacconomics.com), data on 800 Black-owned businesses underscored their collective economic impact, exceeding $1.4 billion dollars.
