As Deerfield Township elected officials considered adding a large-scale multi-unit housing development in their community, their concerns included the Township’s current housing stock. The Center’s report was not focused on quality of life or commute time impacts. However, it allowed the administrators to understand how a potential new housing development would impact the Township’s tax revenues. Our consulting allowed the administrators to recognize the point at which various Township’s housing units and its associated property tax revenues met and exceeded the costs of the corresponding police, fire and EMT services.
